Vyapaar Manan 3.0 Finance in Action at BMCC
College life in Pune typically evokes images of crowded cultural fests or high energy sports meets. But this January, the BMCC Finance Club is flipping the script, proving that numbers can be every bit as electrifying as a dance face off.
On 30th and 31st January, Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Empowered Autonomous, is set to witness exactly that as the BMCC Finance Club returns with its flagship event, Vyapaar Manan 3.0, sponsored by UTI Mutual Fund with Associate Sponsor FinStreet Education. The event transforms the campus into a two day hub of financial learning where investigative challenges, case studies, and simulations turn theory into fast paced, real world action, creating an atmosphere that feels dynamic, competitive, and engaging.
Finance Beyond Textbooks and Spreadsheets
If you have ever felt like a textbook cannot quite capture the sheer chaos of a live stock market or the realities of finance, this event is for you. Guided by its motto, Empowering the future, one rupee at a time, over the past two years, the Finance Club has worked to bridge the gap between theory and reality.
Their latest lineup of events is designed to replace passive learning with active decision making, because finance, at its core, is best understood when applied.
What Is in Store
The event features four distinct group based competitions, each simulating a different facet of the financial ecosystem.
Vyapaar Vichaar is perfect for strategists. It is a deep dive case study competition where participants crack real world business puzzles and even pitch their own IPO.
Rupee Run is designed for those who prefer speed over deep dives. This rapid fire quiz covers everything from economic basics to identifying iconic personalities from the world of finance. The competition builds up to a high pressure finale where quick thinking matters most. It is also one of the most accessible events, with students from 11th and 12th grade welcome to participate.
Fraud Files is one of the most mysterious events of the fest. It unfolds like a live financial escape room where participants step into the shoes of a corporate investigator, analysing documents, examining evidence, and interrogating suspects to uncover the mastermind behind the fraud.
Investor’s Island is designed for board game enthusiasts. It takes familiar Monopoly mechanics and enhances them with real bidding wars and market simulations. Participants navigate auction rounds, build strong property portfolios, and make high pressure decisions amid shifting market conditions. Strategy is key, because every bid is a battle and every property is power.
Why Show Up
Participants get opportunities to interact with like minded students, observe different approaches to problem solving, and experience finance as a dynamic, decision driven field rather than a theoretical subject.
Along with the learning experience, four digit cash prizes, participation certificates, and refreshments make it a solid way to build skills, strengthen a CV, and actually enjoy the process.
