Innovation is the Annual Technical Fest of Cummins College of Engineering and is bigger and better than ever before. The event is a great opportunity for every engineering student in the city to learn and grow.
The college has 6 departments – Computer Engineering, Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunications, Information Technology and Instrumentation, with each department holding different events during Innovation. There are different events every year so everyone who attends the event has something to look forward to! Cummins is hosting it’s first ever 24-hour Hackathon this year which is sponsored by IBM, in which participants code solutions to Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing applications which will then be reviewed by IBM representatives. In addition to the Hackathon they have numerous coding competitions like Tester Rank and App It If You Can as well as several Electronics competitions like Circuitrix, Electronics Treasure Hunt and Contraption. The Mechanical Department is holding Cyclothon, a bicycle building competition and Faster Fixer, a competition to test the repair mechanic in you! For everyone who doesn’t want to participate in any technical competition, they have SciFi trivia to test your SciFi movie knowledge, a treasure hunt competition called Techtonic Trail, a practical problem-solving competition called Ideation and a fun game called Ship Wars. For all the business enthusiasts out there they have a Business Idea Competition where you pitch your business idea to a panel of judges who then rank you based on various factors like practicality, etc.
In addition to many events being organised by departments, they also have several college clubs showcasing various projects and models. They have Team Zenith showcasing a car made by them for the Baha Competition, the Robocon team is conducting a Pac-man game, a student group from the Instrumentation Department are showcasing their project under Mitsubishi and several other student groups would be displaying their projects as well. They also have the Cummins Chapter of Society for Women Engineers holding a Poster Competition on women throughout history who have persisted through engineering.
All in all, Cummins College Of Engineering has a whole lot of exciting events being conducted for the two days of Innovation for which the students have been working night and day with ceaseless determination to put up a successful event.
