
Ganeshotsav is over in Pune with the Visarjan procession on Anant Chaturdashi (6th September 2025). Thousands of devotees come out to farewell Bappa in the procession with music, dance, and devotion! All mandals are eagerly awaited, particularly the five Manache Ganapati, Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati, and the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati.
Here is the timing and route schedule you need to know, if you plan to watch or join the immersion procession.
- The city of Pune will host the grand Ganesh immersion procession on Saturday (Sept 6) starting at 9:30 am at Lokmanya Tilak statue in Mandai. As per custom, the respected Kasba Ganpati will lead the procession, followed by the honored mandals, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibaug, and Kesariwada.
- According to convention, the revered Kasba Ganpati will start the procession of other revered mandals including Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibauga, and Kesariwada. After reaching at Belbaug Chowk the passing time for Manache 5 Ganapti’s is around 1.00PM, that is Tvashta Kasar Ganpati, must pass Belbaug by 1 pm.
- The world renowned Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati will arrive at Belbaug Chowk around 4 pm after which all mandals from Lakshmi Road and Shivaji Maharaj Road will leave until around 5:30 pm.
- Other famous idols include Jilbya Maruti, Hutatma Babu Genu, Bhausaheb Rangari, and Akhil Mandai Ganpati will join this the procession and will leave Belbag Chowk by 7 pm. After that, illuminated floats and other mandals will continue the procession into the night.
Brief Schedule & Route of Manache 5 Ganapati:
- 9:15 AM – Kasba Ganpati departs from Mandai → Belbaug Chowk.
- 10:30 AM – Tambdi Jogeshwari joins.
- 11:00 AM – Guruji Talim joins.
- 11:30 AM – Tulshibaug Ganpati joins.
- 12:00 PM – Kesariwada Ganpati joins.
Route: All proceed via Belbaug Chowk → Laxmi Road → Tilak Statue → immersion pathway onwards.
Schedule & Route of other Idol Mnadals:
- Afternoon (4:00 PM): Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati will join the procession at Belbaug Chowk, and the procession will continue along Laxmi Road.
- Evening (5:30 – 7:00 PM): Bhausaheb Rangari will flow into the procession same as Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati as it continues to immersion.
- Cut off. All idols will have to be immersed prior to midnight due to the lunar eclipse.

Road Closures & Traffic Management
To facilitate smooth and safe processions, on September 6, Pune police are implementing phased road closures throughout the time leading to the processions in central Pune.
- Beginning at 7:00 AM
Laxmi Road and Shivaji Road closed to vehicles.
- Beginning at 9:00 AM
Tilak Road, Bagade Road and Guru Nanak Road closed.
- Beginning at 10:00 AM
Ganesh Road, Kelkar Road closed.
- Beginning at 12:00 PM
Bajirao Road, Shastri Road, Kumthekar Road closed.
- After 4:00 PM
Major Roads that include Hanuman Road, Jangli Maharaj Road, Karve Road, Fergusson College Road, Bhandarkar Road, Pune–Satara Road, Solapur Road, Prabhat Road closed completely until the procession is finished.
No-Parking Zones (From 8:00 AM)
Laxmi Road, Tilak Road, Shivaji Road, Kelkar Road, Shastri Road, Jangli Maharaj Road, Karve Road, Ferguson College Road marked as no-parking zones.
- Heavy Vehicle Ban:
Heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city, from midnight September 6 to midnight September 7.
- Designated Parking & Diversions
Designated parking for two- and four-wheelers, school grounds and open spaces (eg: Peshwe Park, SP College, riverbeds between bridges) are organized.
Alternative ring-road routes are organized to divert traffic from the areas closed.

Having said this, we have a special celestial event this year. The lunar eclipse will be on Sunday, September 7, and will begin at 12:37 PM. Traditionally, all the immersion processions have to be over with before midnight on September 6 in consideration of the lunar eclipse.
