A regatta traditionally refers to a series of boat races and water-sport performances held on the banks of the Mula River. Throughout the decades, it has evolved into much more than a competition, it is a grand celebration of teamwork, discipline, and innovation on water.

The 98th edition of Regatta, one of the most awaited and historic sporting traditions, will be held on 21st and 22nd March. First introduced in 1928, the event has grown into a prestigious celebration of skill, endurance, and competitive spirit on water
The theme for this year’s Regatta, “Legacy in Motion,” reflects the continuation of COEP’s proud tradition since 1928.
“Legacy” represents the rich heritage of the event, while “Motion” symbolizes both the movement of boats on water and the dedication of today’s participants who keep this historic tradition alive. Through months of dedication, rigorous practice, and teamwork, the participants bring this legacy to life on the water, ensuring that the spirit of Regatta continues to inspire new generations of Coepians.

Major Events at COEP Regatta
This year’s two-day Regatta will feature a variety of spectacular water shows and performances including :
• Kayak Ballet – a graceful display where kayakers move in synchronized patterns on water, combining speed, balance, and elegance.
• Shell Games – a thrilling rowing performance using sleek shell boats that highlights strength, rhythm, and coordination among rowers.
• Punt Formation – an artistic night show where boats called punts create illuminated shapes and formations on the water through precise teamwork.
• Telematches – exciting theme-based water challenges and stunts that often include daring moves and visual effects such as fireworks.
• Mashaal Dance – a dramatic closing performance where participants perform choreographed movements with flaming torches, creating powerful visual patterns and messages.
